It started with anxiety (and avoiding phone calls)

Picture this: 19-year-old me, staring at my phone, knowing I needed to make important calls but just… couldn’t. Social anxiety is a real thing, and phone calls were my kryptonite. I’d procrastinate for days on the simplest tasks.

Two months into my Philippines trip, I stumbled into something that had nothing to do with business. I started volunteering with homeless children in Manila—buying food, helping with school transport, covering medical bills when kids got sick.

There was this one little girl whose parents had abandoned her. Drug addiction had torn her family apart, but somehow she still had this incredible spirit. She kind of… attached herself to me and my wife.
